Transforming the heart of the high street
The challenge
We were commissioned by Aquila Holdings to transform this constrained and long vacant riverside brown-field site into an attractive, contextural and viable mixed-use development - blending retail, residential and commercial spaces.
The approach
Our ambition was to seamlessly link all three areas - from the bright, contemporary residential areas to practical office spaces and a highly anticipated supermarket - whilst remaining in keeping with the architectural style of the area incorporating the additional refurbishment of adjacent Claridge House, which forms two additional residential units.
The results
Transformation of a redundant site into a hub of activity, with a new supermarket, two office units and five high-quality residential units that are accessed from a private courtyard with views on to the River Thames.
The completed development has been very well received locally.
